HomeMint

I'm sure most of you have heard of StyleMint, ShoeMint and JewelMint, the online shopping destinations where you can find new items every month based on your personal preferences. All three offer an experience much like a personal stylist, with designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (StyleMint), Rachel Bilson (ShoeMint), and Kate Bosworth (JewelMint). HomeMint is the newest online shopping source for home decor with a private collection designed by Justin Timberlake and Estee Stanley. Much like the other sites, HomeMint offers four different collections of home decor, adding new items every month. They've got everything from bedding and bath and table linens to accessories such as throw pillows and candles.

Room of the Week

I came across these photographs by Linda Bergroth on Bri Emery's blog DesignLoveFest and died a little. This home is so refreshing to me. That's the only word I could think of to describe it. All white floors and walls with tons of light and bright bold patterns and accents. What more could you ask for? It truly is a stunning space.

Room of the Week

Seriously? Do I even have to explain myself with this one? This bedroom is absolutely stunning. Simple and elegant. It's the epitome of feminine and classy. I have never been a fan of wallpaper but it really makes this room all the more beautiful. I love the framed out windows where the bed is nestled, and the large chandelier hanging in the center of the room. It's so sophisticated and really just lovely. The perfect bedroom for a woman.

Movin' On Up

Jonathan Adler is by far one of my favorite home furnishings and interior designers. A few years ago he and his partner, writer Simon Doonan, decided to sell their 1960's Shelter Island cabin and move on up to a larger piece of property in the same area. In the July issue of Architectural Digest, the two give us a peek inside their beautiful one story compound. Their home is very true to Jonathan Adler's style, it's modern but rustic. Definitely "happy chic". There's tons of bright, bold colors, and cool geometric patterns. And check out that pool pavilion. Seriously, insane. Loves it!

Room of the Week

I love how organic and simple this room feels. The first thing that attracted me to this space was the exposed beams on the ceiling. I've always felt that they add a certain charm to a room. I also really like the contrast between the wood floors and the concrete. Again it adds such an organic feel to the room. The brightness factor was also a major plus for me. White walls with white molding with white curtains and tons of light filling the space. And lastly, the décor! As I said before its very simple and uncluttered. I love the three lanterns hanging above the dining room table and the mismatched chairs. Loves it!

Room of the Week

I recently stumbled across an article from February's Vogue that gave a glimpse into the Southampton home of designer Tory Burch. I was blown away by some of the rooms in her house so instead of doing a Room of the Week, this will be more of a Rooms of the Week post. Much like her collections, Tory Burch's home is filled with tons of bold patterns and different textures. For some people this may be a bit too much but I think her home is so true to who she is. It's so unique! I absolutely love it. I noticed a lot of woven textures, especially in her living room. She also used a lot of blues and greens in several of the rooms in her home, colors perfect for a hampton's home. She uses many different patterns in one room but they all compliment each other in the best way. Even though there's a lot of "stuff" everywhere, it's not too cluttered, it's still a relaxed and inviting space. Loves it!

Room of the Week

It's rooms like this that I dream about having in my own home. Clean, crisp, open and airy. I die for this room! I love the white cabinetry in the kitchen balanced by the stainless steel appliances. I love how the kitchen ties in perfectly to the living room creating one large cohesive open floor plan. Taking the light blues from the ottoman and throw pillows tie into the stools at the breakfast bar in the kitchen. I love the colors in this space. The lights blues, greens and beige tones work so well together. The space is very natural and gives off a feeling of comfort. I just want to curl up on the couch with those cute dogs, relax and read a book. I would definitely put this room in my dream home.

Room of the Week

Love, love, loving this dining room. I've had this room saved in my favorites for a while now but I was waiting for the perfect time to share it with you. Everything is very simple. White walls, silver industrial pendant lights, a wooden table, with only one frame on the wall. Plain. But then their are the chairs. The chairs are what make this room beautiful. The patterns on them are a lovely floral design with bright pinks and blues and greens. Tons of color but still elegant looking. Bold without being overbearing. I love them.

Room of the Week

Adoring the kitchenette I chose for Room of the Week today. As soon as I see lucite anything I immediately fall in love, but this kitchenette has a ton of other elements that are equally amazing. I always picture my house having windows like those shown above. Currently, the windows in my house don't let a ton of light in. The amount of light pouring into the room just adds to the beauty of everything that's in it. I love the colors in this room, the yellow walls balanced by the large white moulding around the windows, and the bright citrus colored pillows that line the banquette. And of course the lucite chairs! I'm a major fan of lucite. I think its modern and fun, and because its clear gives the illusion of more space in a room.

Room of the Week

It's hard for me to use the term "bathroom envy" anymore because we finally finished renovating my bathroom at home and I am absolutely in love with it. However, I do happen to love this particular bathroom. It has my favorite clean, crisp white elements to it that I think every bathroom should have, but the pops of color make it so different and fun. The curtains around the bathtub make it a special private space in the bathroom while adding a bright, bold, cool atmosphere to the entire room. Obsessed with the color blocking, too! I don't think a bathroom should be too crazy but I think this one has just the right amount of punch.

Room of the Week

I love my bedroom but lately I've been wanting to transform it for the summer season. I just want to brighten it up a little and since I don't want to paint my walls, I think a playful and colorful patterned duvet and some cute accent pillows would do the trick. I love this bedroom because it's so fresh and bright and summery. The ikat duvet, flamingo pillow and gray chevron pillow would be perfect. I'm a sucker for ikat and chevron.

Room of the Week

Kitchen envy! I was reading the latest issue of Rue Magazine online and came across an article about a French couple and their stunning Soho loft. They described their style a "cultural mix" with Japanese, Scandinavian and Parisian influences. Overall their style was modern and eclectic and I absolutely loved it. The kitchen was my favorite room in their house, maybe because it was the simplest. I love the exposed brick wall painted white, the open cabinets and the metal chairs they have lining the island. But I think what really makes this room are the small accents of their personal taste placed around the room, making it their own. I love the owl perched atop the counter and the two pictures next to each other on the wall showing different types of butterflies and birds. It's definitely hard to mix different kinds of styles but these two made it work and the results were amazing.

Room of the Week

I neglected my Room of the Week duties last week so I wanted to choose a room that was different and fun. As I've said numerous times, I've been anti-neutrals lately. I've realized that the right balance of bold and bright colors livens up a room. This room is like a tropical paradise. I love how the turquoise moroccan leather pouf and the vases on the table compliment the orange couch. This room just makes me want to go on vacation. It's so warm and inviting. I love it.

Boards On My Pinterest Profile
I've always loved saving images I find inspiring or ripping pages out of magazines of looks I like or hairstyles I want to try. I used to try to organize images in different files on my computer but it quickly became chaos. What a disaster. Then a little over a year and a half ago I stumbled across this amazing site called Pinterest. At the time it was a smaller community but I wanted to see what it was about so I sent a request to join and it took about two weeks for them to notify me that I was officially part of the community. I immediately started organizing boards and saving images that I loved into different categories. Fast forward a few months. Last year in March I started my blog, this very one you are reading right now. Pinterest became my savior. It was the easiest, fastest, convenient, and bonus, most fun way of collecting and filing away inspiration for posts. I have boards for anything and everything from fashion to food to hair and makeup. Fast forward to now... Pinterest has exploded. Every girl I know has a Pinterest or is begging one of her friends to send her an invite so she can get in on the action. Pinterest is even coming out with their own app specifically designed for iPads. I could honestly talk about this site all day. I absolutely love it and suggest every one of you get one as soon as possible. You will not be disappointed. Here's a look at some of my boards...

Room of the Week

When I was younger I always wanted a chair swing in my room, but my walls are slanted and the beams probably wouldn't have been able to support the weight anyway. Nonetheless, I thought chair swings were the coolest things ever. I probably saw one in Teen Vogue or something. Anyways, this Room of the Week isn't so much an entire room, more like a small section of one but I still think it's awesome. Obviously the chair swing is my favorite part and the reason why I chose it. I'm starting to remember why I liked them so much.

Room of the Week

Bedroom envy! Storage is always an issue and finding a solution that's not tacky is usually challenging. I think these storage cubes that double as a bed frame are really cute and functional. They're the perfect place to store magazines, books, shoes and purses, leaving your room organized and uncluttered. And I wish I could take those bed linens and pillows and transport them into my room immediately. Beyond obsessed with that chevron comforter. I'm a major chevron fan. The mismatched pattern pillows are really beautiful too. I'm in love! I even love the light pink color of the walls! This is everything a 22 year old's bedroom should look like.

Room of the Week

For this weeks room of the week I chose something that is totally outside of my comfort zone in terms of my personal taste. With that being said, I seriously think this room is fabulous. I love how eclectic, modern and funky it is. Perfect pops of bright colors and cool patterns are everywhere you look. Who would've though you could mix florals and animal prints and geometric patterns and put them all in one room. It's a lot when you break it down but it just works so well in this space. Loves it!
