I'm Fluored

Loving all things neon from Anthropologie. I recently read a post on Babe Walker's blog, from White Girl Problems, about how neon needs to go. Although what she said about neon being over was hilarious, I have to completely disagree with her. I love neon and think it's the perfect pop of color for summer. I'm especially fond of those sandals and watches. I just purchased the Viscid Watch in Sky yesterday and am obsessed with it! I wore it out to my birthday dinner last night and everyone loved it!

Movin' On Up

Jonathan Adler is by far one of my favorite home furnishings and interior designers. A few years ago he and his partner, writer Simon Doonan, decided to sell their 1960's Shelter Island cabin and move on up to a larger piece of property in the same area. In the July issue of Architectural Digest, the two give us a peek inside their beautiful one story compound. Their home is very true to Jonathan Adler's style, it's modern but rustic. Definitely "happy chic". There's tons of bright, bold colors, and cool geometric patterns. And check out that pool pavilion. Seriously, insane. Loves it!

Room of the Week

Adoring the kitchenette I chose for Room of the Week today. As soon as I see lucite anything I immediately fall in love, but this kitchenette has a ton of other elements that are equally amazing. I always picture my house having windows like those shown above. Currently, the windows in my house don't let a ton of light in. The amount of light pouring into the room just adds to the beauty of everything that's in it. I love the colors in this room, the yellow walls balanced by the large white moulding around the windows, and the bright citrus colored pillows that line the banquette. And of course the lucite chairs! I'm a major fan of lucite. I think its modern and fun, and because its clear gives the illusion of more space in a room.

Floral Fever

After realizing how boring my wardrobe is I feel like I've been doing a really good job of slowly incorporating color into it. I bought brightly colored jeans and blouses and now its time to take the next step. Patterns! Lately I've been dying for a floral blouse. I used to own several floral pieces of clothing but the colors were dark or muted and the patterns were apparently too "grandma" for me, or so my friends thought. Being that I still love floral patterns, I've been trying to find shirts and blouses that have a younger, fresher feel. I saw a couple in Zara that I loved, but this Hive and Honey Floral Button Down from Piperlime is by far one of my favorites. It screams spring. I love the bright colors of it and how they paired it with yellow jeans. (That might be a little too bold for me though). I think it looks fun and flirty and its not "grandma-ish" at all!

Room of the Week

It's hard for me to use the term "bathroom envy" anymore because we finally finished renovating my bathroom at home and I am absolutely in love with it. However, I do happen to love this particular bathroom. It has my favorite clean, crisp white elements to it that I think every bathroom should have, but the pops of color make it so different and fun. The curtains around the bathtub make it a special private space in the bathroom while adding a bright, bold, cool atmosphere to the entire room. Obsessed with the color blocking, too! I don't think a bathroom should be too crazy but I think this one has just the right amount of punch.

Pop of Color

I always love seeing "Spring Essentials" posts on other blogs. (I will be posting one shortly!) This particular one caught my eye because of the bold, bright colors in every piece Liz, from the blog Sequins & Stripes, chose. Lately I've come to realize that my love of neutrals might not be such a great thing all of the time. Sometimes neutrals just wash you out and they become boring day after day. So one of my goals is to start incorporating a lot more color in my wardrobe. These essentials definitely inspired me and I'm loving every piece, especially the Rebecca Minkoff iPhone case and the striped Equipment blouse. Here's a list of everything she chose and where you can find it: Rebecca Minkoff Ostrich iPhone Case, Loeffler Randall Filippa Mignon Sandals, Noir Thin Cord Cluster Necklace, Cosabella for J.Crew Bra & Lace Thong, Equipment Striped Blouse, K. Slademade for Design Darling Clutch, Alexander Wang Aida Heels, Comme des Garcons Polka Dot Wallet

Room of the Week

For this weeks room of the week I chose something that is totally outside of my comfort zone in terms of my personal taste. With that being said, I seriously think this room is fabulous. I love how eclectic, modern and funky it is. Perfect pops of bright colors and cool patterns are everywhere you look. Who would've though you could mix florals and animal prints and geometric patterns and put them all in one room. It's a lot when you break it down but it just works so well in this space. Loves it!
