Crazy for Crew

Ever since I started working at Madwell, I have a seriously unhealthy obsession with all things J Crew. Everything is just so timeless but still current and on trend. J Crew re-opened their Manhasset location today after moving to a larger, two-floor store so I had to stop in there and see it for myself. I have to say, I was impressed. It was beautiful and they had so much more inventory than the old one as well as the other locations I've been too. It was really lovely. Of course I ended up picking up a few things. I got the Face Stockholm Nail Polish in Neon Sunset, such a gorgeous neon pink. Perfect for summer.  I also picked up a new bracelet, which I love. (I couldn't find it on their website but it was $22.50 I think.) And lastly, I purchased the Drapey Elbow-Sleeve Tee that I actually saw first on Pinterest here. I love stripes. I'm very excited about my new purchases!

Boards On My Pinterest Profile
I've always loved saving images I find inspiring or ripping pages out of magazines of looks I like or hairstyles I want to try. I used to try to organize images in different files on my computer but it quickly became chaos. What a disaster. Then a little over a year and a half ago I stumbled across this amazing site called Pinterest. At the time it was a smaller community but I wanted to see what it was about so I sent a request to join and it took about two weeks for them to notify me that I was officially part of the community. I immediately started organizing boards and saving images that I loved into different categories. Fast forward a few months. Last year in March I started my blog, this very one you are reading right now. Pinterest became my savior. It was the easiest, fastest, convenient, and bonus, most fun way of collecting and filing away inspiration for posts. I have boards for anything and everything from fashion to food to hair and makeup. Fast forward to now... Pinterest has exploded. Every girl I know has a Pinterest or is begging one of her friends to send her an invite so she can get in on the action. Pinterest is even coming out with their own app specifically designed for iPads. I could honestly talk about this site all day. I absolutely love it and suggest every one of you get one as soon as possible. You will not be disappointed. Here's a look at some of my boards...

Style Envy: Blogger Julie Sarinara

There are only a handful of blogs that I read every single day. Sincerely Jules is one of them. She's a fashion blogger and free lance stylist from Los Angeles, and I love her style. She clearly knows how to get it right. You can definitely see the California influence in the way she dresses. I love the way she pairs soft, flowy fabrics with leather and army jackets. She tends to mix a lot of highs and lows... like a Forever 21 shirt with a BCBG skirt. I like that a lot. Pretty much everything she wears is affordable for the average person. Also, I'm seriously diggin' those sparkly converse. I might have to get a pair of those. And one last thing... how much do you love her hair? Right?! Me too. I'm super jealous. I dream of ombre hair and perfect beachy waves. Anyways, check her blog out. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.

Celebrity Obsession: Olivia Palermo

If anyone has ever watched "The City" on MTV, then you know who Olivia Palermo is. Although she may not be the sweetest person on the show, she has impeccable style. Girl can dress. She definitely knows what she's doing and I'd have to say that I'd kill for her wardrobe. The other day I was at work and a woman told me I looked like "that New York socialite Olivia Palermo." I nearly died. I'm well aware of the fact that I don't look like her but I was extremely flattered nonetheless. I am obsessed with how beautiful she is and her amazing fashion sense.

Friendship Bracelets

As soon as summer rolls around, everyone starts sporting friendship bracelets. They're such a summer staple so why not step it up to the next level. I'm dying for one of these Ariel Gordon silk woven friendship bracelets. The best part about them is you get to choose which two colors you want on your bracelet so it makes them somewhat custom. I'd probably go with turquoise and spring green or watermelon and tangerine. They go for about $115 a bracelet.

Olivia Palermo for Tibi

Tibi launched their Spring 2011 campaign a little over a month ago featuring reality TV star Olivia Palermo and I think it’s awesome. Olivia Palermo is a street-style fashion icon so it was only fitting that she be featured in this campaign. She chose the outfits she wanted to wear for the shoot and styled them with her personal accessories. They photographed her in front of backdrops of NYC, London, Paris and Milan to show a sort of street chic “reality”. I love the whole concept behind the campaign and I think it turned out amazing. She looks absolutely gorgeous. Now if only I could afford anything from Tibi.
