Rainy Days

The weather has been so gloomy and depressing lately, I can barely stand it. That being said, it is the perfect kind of weather to hole up inside and watch a movie. I went to Madison Square Park with MY friend Liv and then spent the rest of the afternoon watching Silver Linings Playbook and ordering lunch from my favorite panini place. It felt so good to just relax and have a little time to myself. The last few days I've been so busy with my new internship and starting my final semester of college, I've hardly had time to breathe.

Crazy for Crew

Ever since I started working at Madwell, I have a seriously unhealthy obsession with all things J Crew. Everything is just so timeless but still current and on trend. J Crew re-opened their Manhasset location today after moving to a larger, two-floor store so I had to stop in there and see it for myself. I have to say, I was impressed. It was beautiful and they had so much more inventory than the old one as well as the other locations I've been too. It was really lovely. Of course I ended up picking up a few things. I got the Face Stockholm Nail Polish in Neon Sunset, such a gorgeous neon pink. Perfect for summer.  I also picked up a new bracelet, which I love. (I couldn't find it on their website but it was $22.50 I think.) And lastly, I purchased the Drapey Elbow-Sleeve Tee that I actually saw first on Pinterest here. I love stripes. I'm very excited about my new purchases!

Ombre Overload

I'm sure it comes as no surprise to you that I love all things ombre. In fact, I'm finally getting my hair ombre'd next week! Can't wait. It amazes me how far the ombre trend has gone. I saw this photo on Pinterest and fell in love with this ombre striped dress. How cute right? I've been on the search for it and can't for the life of me figure out where its from! However, I did see these really cute ombre striped tanks in the Gap yesterday. I love how ombre has taken over the fashion world in every way. What will they ombre next?

Closet Coveting

Envy doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about the closet collection of Style.Com Market Director Marina Larroudé. It's heaven. I'm swooning over every single piece she owns from that Chanel quilted duffle to the Louboutin's sitting atop glass vases on her table. She is insanely organized, which my OCD self loves and has such a diverse and unique selection of designer clothes, shoes and accessories from Manolos to Louboutins to Chanel. Could I be more jealous?

I'm Fluored

Loving all things neon from Anthropologie. I recently read a post on Babe Walker's blog, from White Girl Problems, about how neon needs to go. Although what she said about neon being over was hilarious, I have to completely disagree with her. I love neon and think it's the perfect pop of color for summer. I'm especially fond of those sandals and watches. I just purchased the Viscid Watch in Sky yesterday and am obsessed with it! I wore it out to my birthday dinner last night and everyone loved it!

Style Crush: Aimee Song

I have a major style crush on Aimee Song of the blog Song of Style. I think it's pretty obvious why. Her style is amazing! I love how she mixes a lot of prints and patterns together. She always looks effortlessly cool. She also mixes a lot of high and low priced pieces, which I love. She can pair an H&M tee with a pair of jeans and Chanel espadrilles. She's girly but edgy. I envy her style and am officially inspired to start adding more fun patterns and prints to my wardrobe.

Floral Fever II

It's still Spring and I'm still obsessed with all things floral. About a month ago a friend from school bought this amazing floral blazer from Bloomingdales. I loved it immediately but it was a little overpriced for me. Now floral blazers have been popping up everywhere and I still want one desperately! They're so fun and flirty and add such a lovely pop to any ordinary outfit. I want!

Floral Fever

After realizing how boring my wardrobe is I feel like I've been doing a really good job of slowly incorporating color into it. I bought brightly colored jeans and blouses and now its time to take the next step. Patterns! Lately I've been dying for a floral blouse. I used to own several floral pieces of clothing but the colors were dark or muted and the patterns were apparently too "grandma" for me, or so my friends thought. Being that I still love floral patterns, I've been trying to find shirts and blouses that have a younger, fresher feel. I saw a couple in Zara that I loved, but this Hive and Honey Floral Button Down from Piperlime is by far one of my favorites. It screams spring. I love the bright colors of it and how they paired it with yellow jeans. (That might be a little too bold for me though). I think it looks fun and flirty and its not "grandma-ish" at all!

Rebecca Minkoff S/S 2012

Rebecca Minkoff is one of my favorite fashion designers. She started off as a luxury handbag designer and eventually returned to her original love for apparel design. Her designs are playful with a subtle edge yet still classic and cool. Her Morning After Clutch is by far my favorite bag (I have this one but with gold hardware) and I can't wait to get my hands on another one of her designs. I came across her Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook on Shopbop last week and seriously died and went to heaven. So much neon and studs and gorgeousness! I love the Neon Pink Mini M.A.C. and the Neon Yellow Flirty (both shown in the fifth photo). They're so cute and definitely right on trend, but if I'm going to splurge I might have to go with a more classic color and design like the original Classic Morning After Bag. I guess we'll see though, I do love neon.

L.C.

Some of you may or may not know this, but I am a huge Lauren Conrad fan. I used to love watching her on Laguna Beach (Team L.C.!) and then later when she got her own spin off reality show The Hills. I just loved Lauren's style and her life seemed so awesome (real or not). Lauren Conrad isn't just your average reality star anyway. Her life has only gotten more interesting since the show ended, but more drama-free. She is such a young and beautiful entrepreneur. She wrote three novels in a series called L.A. Candy (loved it!), designed her own fashion line called Paper Crown (love it!), wrote a book on style (my fashion guide!), and launched a beauty website called The Beauty Department (obsessed!). Needless to say I think she's really freakin' cool and wish I could be her. I'm just being honest. Anyways, the first book of her new series, The Fame Game, came out last week. I picked it up over the weekend and cannot wait to start reading it. In the May issue of Glamour Magazine, Lauren talks about life after The Hills, how she got to where she is now and The Fame Game. These are some of the photographs from her Glamour shoot. She's wearing clothes from her Paper Crown line in a few of them and she looks absolutely gorgeous!
