Getaway with Girlfriends

This past weekend I took a trip out to the Hamptons with my two girlfriends for a relaxing getaway. I have to say, I love girls weekends. We had the absolute best time. On Friday we spent the day in the exhaustingly hot weather at the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium in Riverhead, New York. (Checking this off my Summer Checklist!) Despite the heat, we had so much fun. We saw the sea lion show, watched the sharks, played with starfish and stingrays. I love going to the Aquarium. It's definitely one of my favorite pastimes. And after that we stopped in Ralphs for much needed water and creme ices to cool us off. For the rest of the weekend we lounged around by the pool for hours, reading magazines, swimming and listening to an awesome 90's playlist. We barbecued, baked, and indulged in way more delicious food than we probably should have. And at night we roasted smore's (I would check this off the Summer Checklist also except we did it over the stove, so I don't think this counts), watched movies and played games. It was a perfect mini vacation. I can't wait to do it again!

This past weekend was mine & Pat's two year anniversary, so we headed out to the Hamptons after our original plans got cancelled. We decided to stay for two days to relax and have fun. We had such a great time doing such simple things like playing board games and eating outside in town. It was very us and ended up being the most amazing anniversary ever. Here's a few Instagram photos from our weekend...

{My incredibly delicious burger from Barristers. Seriously, it might have been the best cheeseburger I've ever had, and that says a lot coming from me.}

{It was so hard to pick which two flavors of gelato we wanted from Sant Ambroeus.}

{Our cups of gelato! I ended up getting vanilla and chocolate chip, and Pat got strawberry and banana.}

Moving

Today is the day. Finally. We'll be given the keys to the Hamptons house and move in in a few hours. The minivan is packed and me and the boyfriend will be driving it out and spending the whole weekend with my family getting the house together and enjoying ourselves. I'm so excited!

Hamptons Hamptons Hamptons

Obviously I've been non-stop searching for ideas for our new summer home as if I'm the one doing the interior design for it. If only I was given an unlimited budget and the okay to do whatever I want with the house. These photos are from a Hamptons home I saw in Elle Decor. I like how everything is light and soothing without shoving the fact that its a summer home in your face.

Hamptons Here We Come

In one of my first posts a few months ago I wrote about house hunting in the Hamptons with my family. That was just the beginning of it. Since then we went almost every Sunday searching for the perfect house and we finally found it! We're hoping to move in by the end of July and I cannot wait. I'm so excited to spend all of my time out there relaxing, swimming, shopping, and working on my tan. Anyways, here's some photos from a home in Bridgehampton that I just saw in House Beautiful. Granted I don't know if I'd personally choose red as my primary theme in my house but I do love the way this looks and how everything has a vintage touch. It feels very warm and homey, and still feels like summer.

Monday Trip to the Hamptons

We're still on the search for the perfect house in the hamptons. My grandma's list of "necessities" has grown longer over the weeks. Her ideal house would be a victorian with a wrap around porch. I think a wrap around porch would be amazing. Maybe we could have matching porch swings that look like this...

Hamptons House Hunting

Over the weekend, the women of my family headed out to the Hamptons to begin the search for our future summer home. I picked out which room I wanted to be mine in each house we went to and already started planning the decor in my head. My mom wants an open floor plan on the first level that way everyone can hang out and be closer together whether a bunch of us are hanging out in the kitchen or on the living room couches. I don't think we found "the one" this weekend but I'm hopeful we can find the perfect house for us soon. Of course I want my room to have a calming beachy feel. It needs to be relaxing and soothing when I walk into it. I plan for a lot of whites, and light blues. I love this summer bedroom from House Beautiful. It has the perfect balance of what I want.
