This is just a little glimpse into my life from the past few weeks on Instagram. You can follow me @samanthaevers.
(Starting from top left...) The perfect chocolate chip cookies from Cupcakes & Cashmere. The first book I'm reading off of the 20 Books to Read in Your 20's List: Girls in White Dresses by Jennifer Close. The bf and I on NYE in New York City. New shoes that I got for Christmas (Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, & Madewell). The bf and I on Christmas day in front of the tree at my grandma's house. Lights in NYC. My precious sleepy pooch. A house decorated for Christmas near my neighborhood. Christmas cookies that I made and sent out to family members. A polaroid of the bf and I after we declared ourselves winners of the gingerbread house competition we had with my best friend and her boyfriend. Signage I bought from Urban Outfitters for my Christmas party with the girls from school. Our Christmas tree after we finally got around to decorating it.
Hope you enjoyed!
Happy Halloween! Today marks the last day of October and one of my favorite holidays. Unfortunately Halloween is sort of cancelled this year in New York City as a result of hurricane Sandy but I'm not going to let it get me down! I'm happy to say I'm officially back. I decided to take a hiatus in order to think of a name I feel suits me better and turn my blog into what I really want it to be but unfortunately I've yet to find a name, so for now this will do. October is one of my favorite months. It marks the beginning of the holiday season, which is my favorite time of the year. I love all of the traditions that come along with it. In the beginning of the month, my boyfriend came to visit and the Halloween festivities began. We went pumpkin picking out on Long Island with my parents (a double date!), watched Halloween movies (Hocus Pocus is my favorite!) and baked Halloween treats. It was honestly wonderful. And over the weekend my two girlfriends from school came over for an impromptu pumpkin carving party. Our pumpkins turned out interesting to say the least but we had a great time. Anyways, hope you all have a great Halloween!
The only reason I look forward to winter is because Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. Now that we're halfway through January, I'm praying for early spring weather. I just find it so hard to dress for winter weather! It's freezing cold in NYC. I just want to throw on whatever I can find in my closet that will keep me the warmest. And I hate jackets! If I could avoid wearing jackets forever, I would. They always ruin a good outfit in the winter. Anyways, this girl clearly knows how to rock a jacket and dress for winter weather. I'm loving her look. So simple and so cute. And in all neutrals! (Neutrals are my favorite!) I love her oversized chunky gray circle scarf and her adorable black knit hat with the pom pom on it. She looks so chic, but still extremely warm. I need to step up my game. P.S. My favorite part of her outfit is that awesome lightning bolt ring she's wearing.
